Friday 30th September - Gaura Arati

Tonight at Hare Krishna Fridays we will have an evening dedicated to 'Gaura Arati' (Gaura Arotik).

An Arati is a type of 'Puja' ceremony or offering, usually performed at particular times of the day, in the home or Temple, to express love and gratitude to the Supreme Personality of Godhead - Krishna.

Gaura Arati, also called Sandhya-arati because every evening (sandhya) at 7:00 pm it is performed to the Deities with incense, lamp, water, cloth, flowers, chamara and vyajana to the accompaniment of Gaura-arati song with melodious music.

The song glorifies Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the golden avatar (incarnation) of both Radha & Krishna combined as one, along with His associates.

Local devotee, Her Grace Mohini dasi, will guide us through the meaning of the Arati song, it's philosophy and lead us whilst we sing the song together. Gaura Arati lyrics found HERE.

Please join us from 19.30 - 22.30, for this special evening, along side Kirtan (musical chanting) and Veggie/Vegan feast!
