This Friday, we are celebrating the festival of Rama Navami, the appearance day of Lord Ramachandra, the very famous avatar of Sri Krishna. Lord Rama is a powerful incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, manifesting as an ideal king.

He appeared in the Treta-yuga, a previous and very ancient age. During His activities while on Earth, Lord Rama demonstrated high moral values and acted as the perfect son, student, brother, husband and King.  His extraordinary adventure is marvellously depicted  in the famous epic The Ramayana.

This Friday we will sing songs but also have a drama-reading of the famous Ramayana and learn of the amazing pastimes of Lord Rama and His associates.

"Almost like a mad lion, Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu went on His tour filled with ecstatic love and performing sankirtana, chanting Krishna’s names as follows.

Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! he Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! he Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! raksha mam Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! Krishna! pahi mam

That is, “O Lord Krishna, please protect Me and maintain Me.” He also chanted:

Rama! Raghava! Rama! Raghava! Rama! Raghava! Raksha mam Krishna! Kesava! Krishna! Kesava! Krishna! Kesava! Pahi mam

That is, “O Lord Rama, descendant of King Raghu, please protect Me. O Krishna, O Kesava, killer of the Kesi demon, please maintain Me.”"

As usual we will have Hare Krishna Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast. We look forward to seeing you there!
