This Friday we will continue the blissful tenets of Bhakti Yoga - śravanam kīrtanam (hearing and chanting) with the help of local devotee, Her Grace, Sundari Priya devi dasi who will focus a talk on 'the Teachings of Queen Kunti'.

Queen Kunti, Lord Krishna’s aunt, (sister of Vasudeva, Krishna’s father) is famous for her heartfelt prayers from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, where she expresses gratitude to Krishna for the hardships her family faced, as they brought her closer to Him. She reveals that true devotion arises not from comfort but from dependence on the Lord, and only those free from pride and attachment can approach Him sincerely:

vipadah santu tāh śaśvat

tatra tatra jagad-guro

bhavato darśanam yat syād

apunar bhava-darśanam

I wish that all those calamities would happen again and again so that we could see You again and again, for seeing You means that we will no longer see repeated births and deaths.

As usual we will also have Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast.

We look forward to seeing you there!
