This Friday, we have a special guest speaker and an old friend of Brighton Sangha, His Grace, Jai Nitai prabhu. For many years Jai Nitai was the Temple President of Radha Krishna Temple London and a big of support of us here in Brighton. He has since gone on to serve, along with his wife, Bhava Bhakti devi dasi, at the Bhakti Centre in New York and is a prominant teacher of Bhakti Yoga and Vedic Wisdom.

Prabhu is a skilled teacher, engaging speaker, known for his wisdom and humour and we are so happy to have him visit again. We hope, in this holy month of Kartik, he can elighten us in the topic of 'Bahulastami', a festival celebrated this week and recounts the origin of Radha Kund, a sacred lake in India held in high regard for devotees of Krishna. Within the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, Radha Kunda is revered as the ultimate, highest holy place in the entire universe. Located at the foot of Govardhana Hill in Vrindavan, India, it is a sacred lake that represents the absolute pinnacle of spiritual love

"The holy place known as Mathurā is spiritually superior to Vaikuntha, the transcendental world, because the Lord appeared there. Superior to Mathurā-purī is the transcendental forest of Vrindāvana because of Krishna’s rāsa-līlā pastimes. And superior to the forest of Vrindāvana is Govardhana Hill, for it was raised by the divine hand of Śrī Krishna and was the site of His various loving pastimes. And, above all, the superexcellent Śrī Rādhā-kunda stands supreme, for it is overflooded with the ambrosial nectarean prema of the Lord of Gokula, Śrī Krishna. Where, then, is that intelligent Person who is unwilling to serve this divine Rādhā-kunda, which is situated at the foot of Govardhana Hill?" (Nectar of Instruction text 9)

Please join us and meet our esteemed guests, take home spiritual wisdom to uplift and enlighten and as usual we will have plenty of Hare Krishna Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast. We look forward to seeing you there!
