This Friday we celebrate the appearance of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Thākura, a great Vaisnava Acharya (revered teacher & saint) whom the Vaishnava world honours as the Seventh Gosvāmī. He appeared in 1838 in the holy land of Bengal India, just near the place where Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the Golden Avatar of Krishna had enacted His pastimes. At a time when the pure teachings of Lord Caitanya were covered over by neglect and misrepresentation, Bhaktivinoda Thākura stood like a beacon, restoring the light of bhakti for future generations.

"Those who will be born as devotees amongst all the nations of the world, will one day hope to see the birth-place of Śrī Śrī Mahāprabhu from many, many distant lands. Those who endeavour to keep the flow of services in Māyāpura strong, will be counted amongst the main benefactors of the world of Vaisnavas that will appear in the future. There is no doubt that by all these activities, the dharma of Śrī Mahāprabhu will be especially propagated throughout the world." ('Gata-varsha -The Last Year' - Bhaktivinode Thakur)

His Grace Madan Mohan das prabhu will talk us through the importance of this great persoanlity to our modern day Bhakti Movement, how His life is the perfect example of dedication, balance, and unwavering faith and how he saw clearly that the holy name of Krishna is the medicine for the suffering of the world, and he laboured tirelessly to give that medicine to all.

As usual we will also have Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast.

We look forward to seeing you there!
