This week at Hare Krishna Fridays we have an extremely special guest - His Holiness JananandaGoswami maharaj.
For those who have not met Maharaj before, known for his kind and gentle nature, was born in the United Kingdom and began his spiritual life in 1972 when he was initiated by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada.
For more than five decades, Maharaj has been deeply engaged in the service of harinama sankirtana, kirtana, and book distribution. During that time he has served in a variety of leadership roles within ISKCON and has helped develop and support Krishna consciousness in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Africa, Malaysia, Europe, the Philippines, and New Zealand.
Maharaj continues to travel and teach widely, encouraging the chanting of the holy names and the practice of bhakti-yoga. He is particularly known for his efforts to promote congregational chanting through the annual World Holy Name initiative, which inspires devotees around the world to take part in harinama sankirtana.
In recent years, much of his service has been focused on New Mayapur in France, where he has played a key role in strengthening the mission and helping to expand Krishna consciousness throughout the country.
Please join us and meet our esteemed guest and as usual we will have plenty of Hare Krishna Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast. We look forward to seeing you there!
