This Friday, our visiting guest, His Grace Sacinanadana Karuna das will take us on a journey through the famous hymn & prayer to the spiritual master, 'Sri Gurvastakam'.

The Gurvāstakam is one of the most beloved hymns in the Gaudiya Vaishnava, Bhakti Yoga tradition. It consists of eight verses glorifying the spiritual master (guru), and simply means "Eight Verses to the Guru". It was composed by Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Thākura, one of the greatest theologians and commentators in this Bhakti tradition.

Sacinanadana Karuna prabhu, a long time practitioner of Bhakti Yoga and local at the famous Hare Krishna Temple, the Bhaktivedanta Manor, donated by George Harrison, near Watford, North London, is also an accomplished in leading Kirtan, so we look forward to his valuable insights and uplifting mantra meditations and are very grateful for him to visit us in Brighton this week.

Chanting the holy name, dancing in ecstasy, singing, and playing musical instruments, the spiritual master is always gladdened by the sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Because he is relishing the mellows of pure devotion within his mind, sometimes his hair stands on end, he feels quivering in his body, and tears flow from his eyes like waves. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(Gurvāstakam Verse 2)

Please join us and as usual we will have plenty of Hare Krishna Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast. We look forward to seeing you there!
