Gaura-purnima is the most auspicious appearance day of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu - the Golden Avatar of Lord Krishna. The Lord appeared in His previous incarnations as Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, and Lord Nrsimhadeva but Lord Chaitanya is extra special for 'Gaudia Vaisnavas' (aka the Hare Krishna Movement) as He transformed the hearts of everyone He met through singing of the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra and re-establishing the Bhakti-yoga tradition.
His legacy is carried on to this day all over the world, a special gift by our Founder Srila Prabhupada who brought this ancient tradition from India to the whole world.
For the festival, in celebration, we are pleased to welcome again our very special guest, His Grace Jaya Krishna das prabhu from the Bhaktivedanta Manor. Jaya Krishna prabhu is a senior devotee at the UK's largest Radha Krishna Temple in the UK, and has been the director and key actor in the 'Bhaktivedanta Players', a group of talented performers promoting Krishna conscious cultural awareness through drama in the UK and other parts of the world, for many decades. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in practicing Bhakti and skilled in sharing profound spiritual wisdom in a deep and accessible way, helping us to apply it to our own daily lives. In honour of the advent of Lord Caitanya, prabhu will be speaking on His teachings, known as Sri Siksastakam.
We will also have a special ceremony for Lord Caitanya in His deity form, where lamp, incense, flowers are offered as we all sing and we will have ecstatic Kirtan, dancing and a special veggie/vegan feast at the end.
Please join us and we look forward to seeing you there!
